Down for the Count
A downloadable prototype for Windows
Wanted to use the GMTK Game Jam as imputes to get back into solo indie dev, as well as learn Godot. Please excuse the art & audio, the main focus of this jam was learning Godot and getting together a finished, albeit rough final submission.
The result is a pretty basic infinite runner style game, where the player has to make sure to press the space bar within the 1 second zone to keep playing (also upping the score by 20 points). 2 types of pickup can be collected to increase the score, whilst also adding or subtracting time from the countdown to make it harder to keep track of timing.
There are plenty of bugs and ways it could be improved from a gameplay perspective, but it's nice to have a somewhat completed game loop from the initial idea, especially given the aforementioned learning that was required alongside taking the whole process quite relaxed from a time/workload perspective.
NB// Yes, the player character being a duck called Count Down is an awful pun, I apologise
